Bringing new patient care equipment to Cheshire Medical Center
Cheshire Health Foundation, together with our generous community, supports Cheshire Medical Center’s health and wellness mission. We currently need your help to fund $554,000 of patient care equipment for the ICU, Thompson in-patient unit, and Women and Children's Health Unit (WACHU). These equipment needs include ten new ventilators, an upgraded nurse call system, and a new infant security system.
For Cheshire employee Chris Stephenson, bringing new ventilators to the Medical Center is personal. In late November 2021, Chris became dangerously ill with COVID-19. He was admitted to Cheshire's ICU where he was intubated and placed on a ventilator. "It's really scary knowing that's your lifeline,克里斯说 of the ventilator that breathed for him for 63 days.
It was having "the right team with the right tools, at the right time,克里斯说, that helped him recover. He wants everyone to know how fortunate we are to have the teams and resources at Cheshire Medical Center available to care for our community.
An upgraded nurse call system and new infant security system will enhance the care experience for our patients and their care teams. The nurse call system will improve communication and response times between inpatients and their medical teams, while also improving safety. The new infant security system will help keep some of our most vulnerable patients safe.
